The Life Story of a House
Have you ever wanted to know the history of a house? Which families lived there throughout the years, what events did they see unfold before their eyes, what was their day-to-day life like? Unfortunately we do not have a time machine we can dial back and observe the changing centuries, but through the research of dedicated local historians we can get a fair idea about life in the Beavers House from the 1830s to the present 2017. In this series of historical displays, we learn about three families that owned the Beavers House – The Beavers family, the Lee family, and the Fountain family; and other owners of the house – an investment group and Fulton County. Finally we come to the City of Chattahoochee Hills, the current owner of the Beavers House in 2017. Many thanks goes to the Old Campbell County Historical Society, the families of the Beavers House, and the many local historians for sharing information about this property. |
Historical Displays When the City of Chattahoochee Hills acquired the Beavers House in 2017, Laurie Searle created a series of displays to document the history of the home and its surrounding area. Return to the Main Page for the other displays. |
