Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery at Campbellton

This Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery is located in the old Campbellton town center (not to be confused with Friendship Baptist Church on Cochran Mill Rd.)
Two prior cemetery surveys were found in the Old Campbell County Historical Society in Fairburn, GA; however neither survey is dated or attributed to an author. One of these two surveys says this was an African American Church. The church is no longer on this property. A third survey was recorded Nov 2017 and is posted at FindAGrave. A portion of the cemetery is enclosed by a chain linked fence, and in the prior survey the graves inside the fence are listed as “in front of the church.” Behind the chain linked fence are several more grave markers and numerous fieldstone markers. The back end and right side has a wire fence marking the boundary. An estimated 116 graves have been recorded at this site. |
